About Us

Animal Care Centre Boarding Kennels and Cattery is a family owned and operated business in Mackay, North Queensland.We are located just 10 minutes north of Mackay, set on 15 acres of hilltop land with 360° panoramic views.

Throughout its history, the original property is known to have been used since the mid 1800’s and has been the site of a boarding kennel since the early 1970’s. With a strong passion for animals, our family purchased the site in 1984, and transformed its facilities into a more modern kennel and cattery complex. To this day the property continues to transform and grow, with regular upgrades and new facilities developed constantly.

After a fulfilling 23 year career in the pet care industry, David and Anne retired in 2006/07, selling it on to their son Tony using all their knowledge passed on over those years to create what Animal Care Centre is today, continuing on with their passion and enthusiasm for the future generations of our business.
